Trilogis (www.trilogis.it) was established in 2006 by a group of founders with more than 20-yrs experience each in the research, development, implementation and integration of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and related solutions. The company has grown to reach almost 30 staff members and has a multi-disciplinary technical background in GIS (including indoor/outdoor GIS), Spatial Data Infrastructures, 3D visualization, geographical web services, geodatabases and related technologies and it has worked for customers such as multi-utilities, private companies, and public administrations. Trilogis has active cooperation with NASA and they have developed for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations a system for tracking of the locusts in desert areas of the planet which has recently received an award by NASA. Most relevantly for the project, Trilogis is among the members of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), i.e. the international standardisation body in the geospatial domain and it is founder of the OGC Domain Working Group (DWG) on Urban Planning . The company has also developed state of the art technology for planners including specialised solutions for urban and territorial planning which have been recently awarded “ISOCARP award for excellence” by ISOCARP the International Society of City and Regional Planners. Trilogis is certified as ISO 9001-2008 in the area of design, development and maintenance of software solutions and it implements a total quality concept towards production services.
Besides its industrial activities, Trilogis is actively involved in a number of RTD projects, funded by the local government, on outdoor and indoor GIS technologies.
Trilogis is currently being involved as partner of the FP7 IP iCore “Empowering IoT through Cognitive Technologies” (GA 287708), as partner of the FP7 project FI-STAR (on future internet), where the geofencing module is being integrated within two future internet frameworks.
In addition, Trilogis is coordinator the large ICT-PSP pilot B project i-locate “Indoor/outdoor LOCation and Asset management Through open gEodata”. The latter includes 24 partners with 13 pilots across 8 EU countries (www.i-locate.eu) and it develops indoor location systems.
Furthermore, being Trilogis an associate partner of OGC, and being actively involved in various Standard Working Groups something that will be particularly important in terms of impact and exploitation towards the standardisation community.
Lastly, Trilogis is actively involved in Romanian initiatives (e.g. http://smartcitiesromania.net and the Scita Civita association for smart cities in Romania
TRILOGIS will essentially contribute to the CENTRIC in all the technological aspects. In the context of WP01 will ensure large-scale dissemination activities also with support from its subcontractor Geospatial Media and Communications. In WP02 TRILOGIS will contribute to the definition of the innovation and scientific strategy. Furthermore, TRILOGIS will contribute to WP04 and WP05 where they have the responsibility of the technical and operational management.
